Facebook is eyeing another expansion of its huge data center in North Fort Worth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first two buildings in the $1 billion project on State Highway 170 in the AllianceTexas development opened in 2017.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, Facebook has quietly been adding to the 150-acre high-tech campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The buildings house the one of the largest concentration of computing power in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now Facebook has filed plans with the state for even more construction at the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fort Worth 4 Data Center project at 4500 Like Way includes more than 277,000 square feet of underground work and site utilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chicago-based Sheehan Nagle Hartray Architects, which has handled other Facebook data centers, is designing the north Fort Worth project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction isn\u2019t set to be completed until 2022, according to the filings with the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facebook\u2019s data centers are the size of shopping malls, with buildings that house acres of computer servers and the equipment needed to keep them powered, cooled and running 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North Texas is one of the country\u2019s largest data center markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
