A new residential community on the way north of Fort Worth will bring more than 1,000 homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ridge at Northlake is on Robson Ranch Road near the town of Northlake in Denton County. Its first phase will include 267 home sites and a four-acre community center with a swimming pool and splash park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Houses in the development will be priced from the $300,000s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future plans include an adventure park for young children and teens, a second amenity campus with a pool, outdoor game areas and lawns and an extensive community trail system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen planning The Ridge, we knew we wanted to push the notion of what an active neighborhood could mean for families,\u201d said a statement from Ryan Huey, vice president for corporate land investment for builder Taylor Morrison Homes and managing partner for The Ridge. \u201cWe wanted to create a place where you and your family could thrive, laugh and play together whether you are young or young at heart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with Taylor Morrison, other homebuilders in the community are Coventry Homes, Highland Homes and Meritage Homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ridge at Northlake is one of a growing number of new residential communities in the I-35W corridor between Fort Worth and Denton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taylor Morrison is based in Arizona and also builds under the Darling Homes brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In North Texas, the company builds in almost a dozen locations with prices starting at less than $250,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With home sales surging, builders are scrambling to locate new residential sites in North Texas. New home starts in the area were up almost 18% year over year in the most recent quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
